The Name of this mountain "Ganesh Himal" is derived from the name of the elephant-headed God Ganesh. The Ganesh Himal can clearly be viewed from Kathmandu Valley. The Ganesh Range Peaks (Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV) stand out like crystal, that is the "Great Himalayan Chain" forming the skyline. This great Himalayan massif is contained between the valley of the Budi Gandaki in the west and Bhote Koshi in the east. In this Trekking one can experience its rich Flora: the impressive display of berberis, primula, orchids and a variety of Ferns, the forest dense with Spanish oak, blue pine, and in spring time blossoming of the rhododendron set whole forest alight in spectacular arrays of color. The trekking route passes through Tamang villages, gorges and magnificent sceneries. This trekking Can be organize only camping and these days there are small Local lodges in some places so it will be the best trekking to those who are looking to experience local Life style so it can be combined with some lodge and home stay trekking.

Lower Ganesh Himal Trekking Details Itinerary:
Day 01.
Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1345meters). You will be met by our representative and transfer to hotel and a short brief about the trekking after refreshment.
Day 02.
Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple and Baudhanath Stupa.
Day 03.
Drive from Kathmandu to Samari Bhanjyang(1250m.) via Trishuli Bazaar (540m.) by bus:
Depart Kathmandu early morning for the 7-hours drive to the hill town of Sole Bazaar Today you trace the route taken by Prithvi Narayan Shah on his invasion march to Kathmandu over two centuries ago. Prithvi Narayan Shah is considered the founding father of modern Nepal, being the first person to assemble all the territories of the present country of Nepal under one ruler. En route you pass through Trisuli Bazaar, a small town that was once the hub for trekking in this region and is home to a small but interesting traditional bazaar. From here you travel through gravel road until you reach Samari Bhanjyang and this is picturesque drive as you can see the beautiful scenery of rice terraces, small gorges and green hills. Samari Bhanjyang is a small town and it was a trading place in the past.
Day 04.
Trek from Samari Bhanjyang to Katunje Bazaar (765m.):
which takes about six and half hours. In the beginning you trek along gradual descent path and then your trail turns uphill. Finally you trek through flat land to reach your destination. En route you pass different villages, forests covered with pine and rhododendron, farming terraces, small streams and numerous green hills. There is a small market in Katunje and you can have first glimpse of Ganesh Himal from here.
Day 05.
Trek from Katunje Bazaar to Sundar Bazaar (Khahare) (645m.):
It takes about two hours. The trail goes gradual down hill passing through picturesque villages and farming terraces. You can enjoy swimming and fishing in Ankhu Khola at Sundar Bazaar. This is a small with local market, shops with minimal supply, motor able road and it is little developed area. This beautiful town is quite surrounded by fascinating green hills.
Day 06.
Trek from Sundar Bazaar to Aarughat Bazaar (500 m.):
which takes about three and half hours. This day you trek mostly over flat leveled path along the bank of Ankhu Khola (river), picturesque villages, beautiful terraces and you are quite surrounded by green hills. There lies Salyan Taar on the middle way to Aarughat Bazaar from where you catch the first glimpse of Mt. Manaslu.
Aarughat Bazzar covers small area with an old market. Here you find shops with minimal supply, motor able road, high school, health post, typical tea houses, small lodges and it lies at the bank of Budhi Gandaki river. Here the route to Manaslu trekking meets.
Day 07.
Trek from Aarughat Bazaar to Khanchok (1050m.):
It takes about six hours. This day you trek steep ascent path until you reach a high school at Tandrang village. Now the trail goes gradual uphill along the ridge till Khanchok. There you find a motor able road, high school, local but old market. This place offers you panoramic views of Manaslu, Buddha peak and other views of unnamed mountain and peaks.
Day 08.
Trek from Khanchok to Gorkha (1143m.):
which takes about six hours. To reach Gorkha the trail moves uphill all the way to Gorkha temple. Now you trek descent path along stone stair for about 20 minutes to reach Gorkha town.
Day 09.
Drive from Gorkha to Kathmandu by bus:
It takes about four and half hours. It is a pleasant drive back to Kathmandu via beautiful Abu Khaireni town. While driving, you head up to Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city.
Day 10.
Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure.
