Restricted Area Trekking...
In Nepal there are some remote areas where the entry for foreigners is strictly controlled by the immigration. In order to make entry into these areas foreigners must pay for special permit and the trekking trip must be organized only through a registered trekking company.
There were/are some remote places in Nepal where the entry for foreigners is strictly controlled, by the immigration. Therefore, the places have yet remained unspoiled or untamed; that are of full of wilderness ecological and cultural museums. The lives of the inhabitants has rarely changed despite there has been much changed with the development of science and technology. Personal experience of inhabitants of such conditions who have long been arranging their lives with often harsh physical conditions, is something to learn from their struggle primarily in comparison with the past. A journey to such restricted areas awaits full of questions to be answered.
It does not mean foreigners cannot enter, but they must pay for special permit and then only through the registered trekking company. For your information, Outfitter Nepal has long been organizing trekking in such are-- upper Dolpo trekking, lower Dolpo trekking, Manaslu trekking, Rara Lake trekking and Upper Mustang Trekking.
A number of the remote areas of Nepal were restricted for foreign visitors until 1991 where the entry of foreigners is strictly controlled. These trekking areas are different in many features from ordinary ones. Many treks that may be suggested on a map are in restricted areas and you either cannot get a permit for these areas. You must travel with a liaison officer and pay for a special permit. Groups must consist of a minimum of two clients and the required staffs. The main objective of declaring these areas ' restricted' is to protect the natural environment and culture from outside influences. The environmental officer has to handle all the formalities with the police and government offices in route. The treks must be fully arranged through registered trekking company. It has to be fully equipped with tent, all support staffs, cooks, etc. you do not have to worry that the Outfitter Nepal arranges the trekking permit through and series of applications and guarantee letters to these areas as this is one of the trekking agencies that has taken the permission to operate the trekking in such wildered areas.
